Dodengang - Diksmuide - 10/11/2007
Op zaterdag 10 november 2007, de vooravond van 11 november,
bracht onze fotograaf een bezoek aan de Dodengang
te Diksmuide. Het waren vooral de Belgische troepen die er
vochten langs de boorden van de IJzer. Hieronder een aantal
foto's.
Please find below some pictures of our visit to the trenches
of the death 'Dodengang' at Diksmuide. During the Great
War, the Belgian army fought against the Germans alongside
the river 'IJzer'.
The public first makes a short tour in the visitor's centre
for more information.
Memorial plaque for Felix Bastin who was killed on November,
4th, 1917.
The trenches are maintained by the Belgian army.
Alongside the site, several pillboxes can be found.
A few visitor's in this rain.
The demarcation stone were the ennemy was stoppped by the
Belgian army.
On the site, several information panels, illustrated with
pictures, give the necessary details on what happened here
in 1914-1918.
